Katie Blackstone started working at Travel Beyond as a high school intern. At the time, a career in travel wasn’t on her radar, but Katie soon realized that travel had become a passion worth pursuing full-time. Today, Katie’s a travel consultant specializing in African safaris, a certified South African specialist and a past recipient of the prestigious “30 Under 30” award from Travel Agent magazine.
Katie’s knowledge comes from vast personal experience on safari in Southern and East Africa and strong relationships with partners on the ground. Katie’s most recently been focused on honing her knowledge of unique African encounters. In the last two years alone, Katie has embarked on a gorilla trek in Rwanda, enjoyed a private mobile safari in Botswana, tracked chimpanzee in Tanzania and more.
What’s next? Katie’s currently preparing to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Go Katie!
